Mad for Plaid

December 12, 2019

This post is sponsored by Walmart. All opinions are my own

We are officially less than two weeks away from Christmas! As always, time has flown by and the seasons are changing so rapidly. However, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts, this is one of my favorite times of the year. I recently just took a little getaway to New Orleans and it was so beautiful to see how the whole city was decorated. Wreaths and garlands were draped all over the balconies and lights were hung everywhere. It just lit up the cit (literally) and could put anyone in the holiday spirit.

Although this time of year is all about the glitz and glam, you can also wear more casual looks that are just as festive. This outfit is head-to-toe from Walmart and definitely says the holidays. The plaid blazers has red and green throughout and can be worn from day-to-night. You can wear it to the office or out to a casual dinner date. I love how Walmart has such a wide selection of holiday looks so it can be your one-stop-shop for holiday style. I’ve listed some other great items below.

So whether you are hosting the chicest soiree with all the bells and whistles, or you are having a more laid back holiday gathering, Walmart has something for every occasion. Be sure to check out the outfit details of this look below!

This outfit is nothing more than taking as much advantage of the holiday season as possible. I don’t know where else I would be able to wear a hunter green flounced hem dress while holding a gold wreath in the middle of downtown LA. During the holidays, however, it’s totally acceptable.

I don’t know about you but I am feeling the holiday cheer as well as the weight of the many things that need to be done around the holidays. It’s always a weird feeling of nostalgia, joy, but then also “I have these gifts to buy, I have this event to go to, what am I going to wear”, etc. Nonetheless though, it is the most wonderful time of the year!

So as I mentioned, I just wanted an excuse to wear a beautiful dress that hugs my curves so well. If you’re looking for an alternative for a holiday party, green is a great option to stand out among the sea of red that is bound to be in abundance. Unfortunately, this particular dress is sold out in anything but petite but I’ve listed some other cute green dresses in plus size below.

Hello December

December 1, 2019

Hellooooo December! Wow, we are officially in the final month of 2019! Time, as always, has flown by but I do really love this time of year. Not only is it the holidays but it’s also a time to reflect and look back on the year you’ve had. I don’t know about you but I’m always feeling incredibly blessed and grateful during the last few weeks of the year. Whether it was an amazing year, or a “not quite what I’d hoped for” year, it was still a year that I made it through. And that’s what’s most important.

Of course, with the holidays comes sparkles, sequins and the whole glam. I am easing my way into that but don’t you worry, it’s coming! (hint, hint..wink, wink…nod to KIN by Kristine). So with this look, I am taking advantage of December green but in fun leopard print kinda way. I’m also adding a little bling with the gold belt.

This sweater skirt is perfect for this time of year. I love the material and it has so much stretch that it makes it super comfortable to wear. It’s perfect for a holiday party or any other festive event that you want to rock it at. I paired it with a black turtleneck because I just love how it pairs with pencil skirts. Simple and sleek, just how I like it.

Holiday Sparkle

November 24, 2019

Ladies and gentlemen, friends and foes, the time has officially come. Sequins season is here! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! In all seriousness, the holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year and one of the reasons is because of all the glitz and glamour. It’s probably the only time of year where full sequins garments are acceptable (and encouraged). I mean, I personally try to sneak in sequins at different times of the year as well but this is the moment where you can literally shine (pun intended).

A sequin skirt is always a staple for me. Although they are seen as a fancier item, you can really dress them up or down. I decided to style mine more dressed up with pumps and the whole nine. However, you can pair this with a graphic t-shirt or a chambray top to give it a more casual flair.

This particular skirt is not a plus size item so I’ve listed some other favorites that do come in plus below.

There are so many ways that you can wear sequins. It’s one of those things that can translate to anyone’s style. If you’re edgy, just add a leather moto jacket to the look. If you’re more feminine, dial up the glam with a sparkly clutch and a statement shoe. The options are endless. Check out the outfit details below and get your sparkle on!
