Walt Disney World 2020

March 3, 2020

This is part 2 of my Walt Disney World Trip. I am kind of working backwards because I started with the Disney Cruise, which was the latter part of the trip, and now getting back to the beginning of the trip. There was just so much that happened that it was hard to talk about it all in one post.

As a recap if you haven’t read my previous post, I recently went on a 7-day whirlwind of a trip to Walt Disney World and on a Disney Cruise in an event called Disney Creators. It was filled with so many exclusives, sneak peeks and more. We got to access some of the parks before and after hours which was absolutely incredible. We also got to stay at the new Disney Riviera resort that I want to talk about below.

Disney Riviera Resort

We had the opportunity to stay at the new Disney Riviera Resort. Disney’s Riviera Resort is a Disney Vacation Club resort at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It was built by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Inspired by the European Riviera, this hotel has beautiful touches that are both modern and classic. It’s marked with lush landscaping, bubbling fountains and a beautiful waterfront.

One of the great things about this hotel was how convenient it is to get around to the different parks. Disney’s Skyliner is a quick means of transportation that whisks you away at a moment’s notice. It’s located right on the property so it’s a short walk away.

Disney Cruise for Adults

March 1, 2020

If you follow me on social media (which you should), you know that I recently spent a whirlwind 7 days at the Disney Creators Land & Sea event. This event brought together influencers from across the country to spend 3 nights at the new Disney Riviera Resort and 3 nights aboard the Disney Dream sailing away to the Bahamas. It was jam-packed with all sorts of activities, exclusives and more that I will get into in my next blog post. First up though, I wanted to recap my experience on my first Disney cruise…as a young adult…with no children. Is a Disney Cruise for adults? Let’s get into it.

I’ve been on probably 4 other cruises with Carnival & Royal Caribbean so I kind of knew what to expect when cruising. However, I was admittedly a little nervous about how this particular cruise would go since Disney caters to kids and families. I went into this experience fully open-minded, though, and ready to enjoy all it had to offer.

Disney Dream Deluxe Verandah Stateroom

We stayed in the Deluxe Oceanview Verandah stateroom that was really spacious. It was so easy to walk about and did not feel cramped at all. There were two separate closet spaces, a split bathroom (one with a toilet/sink & the other with a shower/sink), a couch that converts into a bed, a desk area and a queen sized bed. The split bathroom is a genius idea because it meant that two people could get ready at the same time. For me who needs her own space and takes some time getting ready, this was everything!

Women’s Empowerment in Carmel

October 6, 2019

Outfit Details – Top: NY & Company | Jeans: Kut From the Kloth (same brand, slightly different style) | Booties: Dolce Vita (similar)

If you’ve been following me on social media, you know that I went on a very exciting trip with Mercedes Benz and Glamour Magazine to Carmel, CA to celebrate women’s empowerment. It was thrilling, it was inspiring and it was action-packed. I don’t know how they were able to fit so much into a short couple of days. There’s so much that I want to share from the stunning resort they graciously put us in, to the activities and more. So, let’s get into it.

Where We Stayed

Carmel is only about 45 minutes by plane north of Los Angeles right along the coast. I’ve lived in LA all my life but have never been to this area. I can definitely say that it won’t be my last. It was filled with vast mountains, lots of unique shops, beautiful vineyards and more. As we drove through the hills, we turned into the Bernardus Lodge & Spa¬†which is arguably one of the most beautiful properties that I have ever stayed at.

TrendyCurvy Travels: NYFW 2019

September 12, 2019

My bags are still unpacked and I’m living out of suitcases but, it’s time for another New York Fashion Week recap! This is my third year attending the NYFW/CurvyCon combo and I have so much to share. I get so excited for this time of year for many reasons. One is that there is nothing like New York during fashion week. It is filled with so many trendsetting fashionistas and I get so inspired about my own style. The other reason is that year after year, fashion is getting more and more diverse. And I mean that across the board – from size, to age, racially and even people with disabilities. It is so encouraging to see and it makes me feel as though we are moving in the right direction.

So without further adieu, let’s get into this recap.

New York City Hotel

This is my second time staying at AKA Wall Street and it is definitely my favorite hotel in New York at the moment. The rooms are set up like studio apartments equipped with a full kitchen, living room and bedroom area. It’s chic, sleek and a great place to unwind from the busy NYC streets. Plus, the customer service is so amazing. From the front desk clerk to the bellman, everyone is so hospitable and attentive. I highly recommend.

The CurvyCon

CurvyCon is literally a breath of fresh air. If you haven’t been, you are really missing out on an amazing experience. To walk in a room of so many women that look like you and share the same sentiments as you is something you really can’t describe. And the fact that it was created by plus size women just sends it over the top. Bravo to Chasity & Cece for another incredible year!

I was overwhelmed with the love and kind words that I received while there. Every hug and picture that I took I truly cherish. Thank you for being so kind and for being such a great online community!
