The Wild Side

July 5, 2020Fashion

My current mood: enjoy Summer as best you can. Life has been an up and down roller coaster for months with arguably more lows. However, it’s important to not dwell there. Positivity and faith is how I live my life and I always believe that there are many more things to be grateful for than not. Although I wish that I was going on a tropical vacation or that I could go to the beach freely, I’m grateful for these beautiful Southern California days. I’m grateful that I am healthy, that my family & friends are healthy and that I’ve been able to maintain my finances. I’m grateful for butter pecan ice cream lol! See, so much to be appreciative of.

This look is a simple Summer outfit to help you enjoy the season. I love that I can wear leopard print all year round in different forms. It’s quintessential in the Fall, but you can also mix in little pops of it here and there. This crop top is inexpensive, yet very cute. I know that crop tops are intimidating for some plus size women so a good strategy may be to start with a cheaper item to ease your way into it. Also, I always pair my crop tops with something high waist to make myself feel more comfortable. High waist jeans and skirts (particular flowy skirts) are my favorite pairings. You can find similar posts here and here as examples.

So, I hope that you are finding your “happy” this season and taking time to enjoy the little things. Write a comment below on how you plan on enjoying your Summer in whatever way works for you.

How do you like the quality of shein clothing?

It’s not the greatest quality but good enough to wear. You really can’t expect much for the price points

Unfortunately pieces in this look are old. Boots are from @nadiaaboulhosn x @fashiontofigure collection that sold out. I link similar sweater dresses in the link in my bio and the same hat in a different color 🖤
#ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even #ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even if you desire to make changes to it. Let’s normalize working out for other reasons than just weight loss. Let’s focus on being the best version of ourselves, rather than the idea of another person’s life/body that we covet. Life is simply too short to not embrace your own amazing journey.

Connecting mind, body and spirit by doing a little beach yoga in this @lululemon gear and yoga mat. I’m awful at yoga if I’m being real. But I’m trying to do new things and allow my body to surprise me with its capabilities. Check out links to these items in my stories! @shopstyle #thesweatlife

These are just a fraction of the comments that I see. And while some of these are made in jest, your words and thoughts have so much power. You are not shaped like a (insert object). You are a person. And I don’t want to see this language anymore. K? Love ya!

I saw this quote and it stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day-to-day or obsessing over things we don’t like about ourselves. In 2021, I’m challenging all of us (including myself) to think higher, think bigger. Our lives are so much more vast and meaningful than we imagine. Be the ocean...

We are in a brand new year and with that comes a “New Year, New You” mentality. And there is nothing wrong with setting goals for changes you want to make in your life, from your body to your daily habits. Just remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint and to practice grace & kindness throughout.
