Pur-suit

One trend that I have started to see quite often lately is pastel suiting. I think that we all know by now that work wear is not what it used to be. Work wear used to function exclusively for the office. It was made up of darker colors like black and navy, and it was meant to look professional and serious. Nowadays, suiting has taken on a whole new meaning and has gone from the office, to drinks and beyond. Vibrant colors, prints and even embellishments have marked this new wave of business attire. Since Spring is right around the corner, it’s only fitting that pant suits are coming in these light, airy pastels like lavender, baby blue and blush pink.

So of course, as my blog name suggests, I have to follow the trends. I did so by rocking this matching set from Calvin Klein. I’m a huge fan of blazers as I’m sure some of you know already. They are one of the most versatile pieces that you can dress up or down. I love how this one doesn’t have too much structure, giving you the flexibility to style as you wish. Since I wanted to stay true the suit look, I wore the matching pants in this beautiful lavender shade. And it was just my luck that I had a pair of pumps that went perfectly with the outfit. Not only did they match exactly, but a pump was the exact shoe that this needed to complete. Check out the outfit details below and try your own version of this bossed up trend.

Unfortunately pieces in this look are old. Boots are from @nadiaaboulhosn x @fashiontofigure collection that sold out. I link similar sweater dresses in the link in my bio and the same hat in a different color 🖤
#ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even #ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even if you desire to make changes to it. Let’s normalize working out for other reasons than just weight loss. Let’s focus on being the best version of ourselves, rather than the idea of another person’s life/body that we covet. Life is simply too short to not embrace your own amazing journey.

Connecting mind, body and spirit by doing a little beach yoga in this @lululemon gear and yoga mat. I’m awful at yoga if I’m being real. But I’m trying to do new things and allow my body to surprise me with its capabilities. Check out links to these items in my stories! @shopstyle #thesweatlife

These are just a fraction of the comments that I see. And while some of these are made in jest, your words and thoughts have so much power. You are not shaped like a (insert object). You are a person. And I don’t want to see this language anymore. K? Love ya!

I saw this quote and it stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day-to-day or obsessing over things we don’t like about ourselves. In 2021, I’m challenging all of us (including myself) to think higher, think bigger. Our lives are so much more vast and meaningful than we imagine. Be the ocean...

We are in a brand new year and with that comes a “New Year, New You” mentality. And there is nothing wrong with setting goals for changes you want to make in your life, from your body to your daily habits. Just remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint and to practice grace & kindness throughout.
