Twirl in Tulle

December 18, 2018Fashion
0

Nothing says festive more than a tulle skirt. It’s fun & flirty and is perfect for any special occasion. Year after year, tulle skirts emerge back on the scene as one of the “it” items to have. It’s no surprise though because they are easy to wear, look great on all body types, and just are so stinking cute!

This is the first tulle skirt that I’ve owned and I don’t know why it took me so long. This particular skirt does not have too much tulle, which I actually enjoy. Some that I have seen in the past were pretty dramatic and had a lot of bulk. The great thing about this skirt is that because it’s not overloaded with tulle, you can wear it during the holidays and even beyond. It will fit in with pretty much any occasion.

I styled the skirt with a crisp, white button up top. I love the blend of such a classic and professional garment with something that is almost the complete opposite. It’s a little business on the top, a little pleasure on the bottom. To seamlessly mix these two elements together, I knew that I needed a belt. As you will see in the outfit details below, all of these items are from JCPenney. JCPenney is a one-stop shopping destination offering a variety of stylish and affordable fashion and home decor merchandise. They literally had everything that I needed. The belt makes it so that you can’t distinctively tell where one stops and the other one starts. Plus, it adds a chic design element to the look. Finally, I finished off this outfit with these edgy, yet chic high heel sandals. It really helped to bring the look together.

Today is the last day to order online from JCPenney and get it in time for Christmas! PLUS, they are having a sale. You can get an extra 30% off $100 or more and an extra 25% off under $100 with the coupon code: 4Flash. Be sure to check out their holiday gifts for your loved ones!

Unfortunately pieces in this look are old. Boots are from @nadiaaboulhosn x @fashiontofigure collection that sold out. I link similar sweater dresses in the link in my bio and the same hat in a different color 🖤
#ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even #ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even if you desire to make changes to it. Let’s normalize working out for other reasons than just weight loss. Let’s focus on being the best version of ourselves, rather than the idea of another person’s life/body that we covet. Life is simply too short to not embrace your own amazing journey.

Connecting mind, body and spirit by doing a little beach yoga in this @lululemon gear and yoga mat. I’m awful at yoga if I’m being real. But I’m trying to do new things and allow my body to surprise me with its capabilities. Check out links to these items in my stories! @shopstyle #thesweatlife

These are just a fraction of the comments that I see. And while some of these are made in jest, your words and thoughts have so much power. You are not shaped like a (insert object). You are a person. And I don’t want to see this language anymore. K? Love ya!

I saw this quote and it stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day-to-day or obsessing over things we don’t like about ourselves. In 2021, I’m challenging all of us (including myself) to think higher, think bigger. Our lives are so much more vast and meaningful than we imagine. Be the ocean...

We are in a brand new year and with that comes a “New Year, New You” mentality. And there is nothing wrong with setting goals for changes you want to make in your life, from your body to your daily habits. Just remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint and to practice grace & kindness throughout.
