Cape-able - Trendy CurvyTrendy Curvy

November 5, 2017

Today I’m letting you guys in on an easy styling trick that is without a doubt fool proof. I do this every Fall/Winter with different garments and it never fails to look great. It works for all body types and best of all, it can have you out of the house in less than 10 minutes.  All you have to do is take a cape/poncho like the one I’m wearing or even a blanket scarf, wrap it around your body so that it hangs evenly on both sides, cinch it with a belt and voila! Instant chic!

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when creating your own looks. The first is to choose a cape or scarf that has a symmetrical pattern. I find that this helps to make it look more purposeful almost like the top is an actual garment not one that you created. Then choose an elastic belt that has a cute buckle to complete the look. This not only helps to create a waist but it also adds a stylish element. I went with simple skinny jeans, nude pumps and a brown bag to finish out the rest of the outfit. And you all know how much I love my Fall hats! It went perfectly with this color palette and I just love the result.
