Every year the trend report comes out for Spring and florals is always named as a top trend for the season. I, and along with others I’m sure, do a collective eye roll at the obvious selection since florals for Spring isn’t exactly original. However, I’m always pleasantly surprised at the unique ways that florals are incorporated into garments and the outfit possibilities that arise.
This year, the floral trend is leaning more towards tropical flowers and colors. Hibiscus, lotus, lillies, etc. just to name a few are among the wide variety of tropical prints being placed on garments from dresses to pants to even outerwear. I love this new take on the traditional floral print that allows for more exotic and vibrant looks. I’ve worn tropical inspired pants in a previous look but for this post, I decided to rock it with a kimono. As I’ve mentioned before, kimonos are super versatile garments to have in your wardrobe. This kimono was intended to be a swimsuit cover up however I decided to pair it with a camisole and skinny jeans. It provided a fun and dramatic element to the outfit that is totally in line with the season’s more popular trends. This is TrendyCurvy personified!
