I’m serving it up in the kitchen (literally and figuratively)! I recently had the opportunity to try out Blue Apron which is a food delivery service and I am so excited to tell you guys about it. I’ve never tried out a service like this before but now having experienced it, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to go back to the way things were before. The picture above shows the end result so let me break it down how I got to that point.
First you sign up for the service which is really easy to do. During the sign-up process, you can choose between a 2-person plan or a family plan and you will receive 1 box per week that includes 3 meals. You can customize your boxes by including your dietary restrictions or preferences and you can see in advance what meals you will be receiving. If there is something that you don’t like, you can simply swap it out for something else. There are a ton of recipes to choose from! After you’ve made your selections, it’s time to get your box! (which is recyclable by the way!)
Imagine receiving all of the ingredients that you need for 3 meals perfectly portioned out so that all you have to do is cook it?! For someone that is always on the go, this was such a huge convenience for me. Sometimes cooking can seem like a chore (am I right?) but I was genuinely excited to cook. Complete with cards that give step by step instructions on how to prepare the meals, I was ready to go!
So what’s on the menu? Well I’m glad you asked! I’m making Cajun Catfish and Spiced Rice served with sautéed mushrooms and collard greens. As soon as I saw this meal on the plan I said sign me up! I followed each step carefully to make sure that it came out as pretty as the picture and (spoiler alert) it tasted amazing!
First I chopped all the veggies…
Then I got to cooking (and signing to music playing in the background)!
Now it’s time to plate!
Just look at this meal! Colorful, appetizing and oh so pretty.
At this point, I did what anybody else would do after cooking dinner…I posed for pictures! In all honesty, I do not normally cook in a cute little dress and heels (even though I’m sure you’re thinking that, right? lol). However, I wanted to have a special date night complete with a great dress and a delicious gourmet meal thanks to the help of Blue Apron!
I highly encourage you to give Blue Apron a try. You will not be disappointed. The first 25 readers will get three free meals on their first Blue Apron order! Just click here to get started!
You can check out what Blue Apron is all about here and how beyond the convenience that they provide their customers, they are really dedicated to providing healthy, fresh ingredients, supporting farmers, and eliminating food waste to replenish our natural resources.
