Denim on denim will always be a favorite for me. I feel like it never really goes out of style and because denim is so versatile, you can create a myriad of different looks. Typically, I would do a chambray top with distressed skinny jeans but since its Spring, I wanted to incorporate a denim skirt to show a little leg. In my opinion, denim skirts are making a comeback. They were a huge trend back in the day with denim mini skirts but they sort of fizzled out. Now, with slits, embellishments and detailing, they are becoming as much of a staple as jeans with the ability to style them in various ways. I love this denim skirt from Target’s Who What Wear collection for several reasons. The length is perfect, hitting me right at the knee so that it is appropriate for daytime wear. The slit gives it a little bit of sex appeal but not too much. Also, the denim is very giving, made of a lightweight stretchy material that allows for it to conform to my curves. I added in simple yet cute accessories with gold and nude tones to balance out the monochromatic look and make it my own.

Unfortunately pieces in this look are old. Boots are from @nadiaaboulhosn x @fashiontofigure collection that sold out. I link similar sweater dresses in the link in my bio and the same hat in a different color 🖤
#ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even #ad Let’s normalize celebrating your body, even if you desire to make changes to it. Life is simply too short to not embrace your own amazing journey.

Connecting mind, body and spirit by doing a little beach yoga in this @lululemon gear and yoga mat. I’m awful at yoga if I’m being real. But I’m trying to do new things and allow my body to surprise me with its capabilities. Check out links to these items in my stories! @shopstyle #thesweatlife

These are just a fraction of the comments that I see. And while some of these are made in jest, your words and thoughts have so much power. You are not shaped like a (insert object). You are a person. And I don’t want to see this language anymore. K? Love ya!

I saw this quote and it stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day-to-day or obsessing over things we don’t like about ourselves. In 2021, I’m challenging all of us (including myself) to think higher, think bigger. Our lives are so much more vast and meaningful than we imagine. Be the ocean...

We are in a brand new year and with that comes a “New Year, New You” mentality. And there is nothing wrong with setting goals for changes you want to make in your life, from your body to your daily habits. Just remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint and to practice grace & kindness throughout.
