Spring is on the horizon and shirt dresses are all the rave. From the New York fashion runways to your closets, this highly versatile garment can be styled many different ways. It’s one of those pieces that just looks great on everyone and is basic enough to allow for some creativity. I’m showing you 4 different looks that you can put together with just this one item. I love to do stuff like this because not everyone (including myself) can buy an abundance of clothes so if you shop smart and choose good pieces, you can get a lot of wear out of a minimal wardrobe.
These 4 outfits are inspired by the HP Pavilion x360. I am partnering with HP to showcase how the versatility of fashion can also translate to the versatility of this laptop. This is not your ordinary laptop in that you can use it in 4 different modes: laptop, tablet, tent and stand. The 360 degree hinge allows you to “work in notebook mode, watch in stand mode, play in tent mode and go in tablet mode.” Just as I styled this shirt dress to serve different purposes, you can also use the HP x360 to serve all of your needs. Also, HP is going on the road with Meghan Trainor to cover her entire “That Bass Tour”. You will be able to get a behind the scenes look in an “All About That Tour” documentary to see all of the elements of the tour from hair to makeup to choreography. Keep up with all the latest and greatest of the tour here: http://bit.ly/allaboutthattour.
The first and most obvious way to wear the shirt dress is just how it is meant to be worn. Since mine is an olive green color, tans and neutrals are great compliments. I swapped out the tie for a skinny belt and added a large weekend bag and some of my favorite high heel sandals, all from the same color family.
This second look is a bit unconventional and one that you may not have thought about before. A great way to get some versatility with this garment is to simply open it up and wear it like a light duster jacket. I went with all white underneath to give it a chic look and to not clash with the shirt dress.
The great thing about shirt dresses is that they can transcend seasons. Put a hat and some boots on and you are ready for Fall. Add some leggings with your boots and you are ready for Winter (well, maybe a California winter). Either way, it can be worn all year long.
Lastly, a casual outfit. Tying your shirt dress up can be a perfect base for a casual and comfortable look. I wanted to have a little fun with this by adding an unexpected color to it. The red gives it a little bit of a pop and adds some personality to an otherwise basic outfit.
Be sure to check out the new HP x360 laptop and follow Meghan Trainor on her “That Bass Tour” with HP!
