The quickest way to get to know someone is to share secrets with one another, right? It creates a little bit of vulnerability, breaks down the facades of new relationships, and opens up the lines of communication. Since I am, in a way, starting a new relationship with you all, I thought I’d share a secret of my own. Ok, here it goes: I am not a blogger. I know, interesting revelation coming from someone starting a new blog but let me explain. I have never considered myself to be a blogger, especially one of fashion. There are tons of fabulous fashionistas whose blogs I follow (i.e. stalk) regularly for the latest fashion tips and ideas. These ladies are funky and inventive, always putting together the most exciting looks that just leave me swooning. And here I am just trying to keep up!
So let’s fast forward to now and get to how this “non-blogger” decided to create a blog. I’d like to think that blogging chose me (I know, this is starting to sound a little pretentious but hang in there with me). As you will soon discover, I am not, shall I say, petite. I am a curvy, plus size woman and sometimes these curves make shopping a little difficult. Difficulty, however, does not equate to impossibility. Being the determined young lady that I am, I search high and low for fashions that are trendy and figure-flattering. Because of that, I often get the question “Where do you shop?”. The truth is there is no “one size fits all” approach to fashion. Trends work best when you make them work for you. So there in lies the birth of Trendy Curvy. Simply put, this is a fashion diary about the journey of “a curvy girl living in a trendy world”.
