You’re Invited: Curvy Cocktails

I am literally BURSTING with excitement to finally share with you all this news. I am hosting my very first event in my hometown of Los Angeles, CA! I have been wanting to create an event for quite some time now and the time has finally come. The event is called Curvy Cocktails (cute right?) and it will be a chic cocktail affair to bring together bloggers, brands, models, curvy fashionistas and more. With Los Angeles being known for its highly superficial and stereotypical body standards, I really wanted to celebrate the vibrant community of curvy women that don’t necessarily fit the “mold” but are still thriving. In the land of Hollywood where often times people are trying to be someone they are not or conform to what everyone is telling them they should be, these women are not afraid to be who they are, at the size that they are, and shine!

Curvy Cocktails will be co-hosted by the amazing Candice Kelly who is a plus size model with Dorothy Combs Modeling Agency. She has become a well known name within the plus size community for her striking photos, larger than life personality and curvy frame.

We also have a special guest joining us for the event. It is none other than the verbal assassin herself, Mz Gossip Girl aka Nina Parker. Television personality, Access Hollywood Live contributor and Love & Hip Hop Reunion host, Nina has made her mark on the entertainment industry. Starting her career at TMZ, she has catapulted into the spotlight and shows no signs of stopping.

And then there’s me but you already know who I am :-)

Lastly, we have some amazing sponsors for the event. These are brands that I have worked with before and can personally attest to the passion they have for making women look and feel great. The first is Fashion to Figure of whom we are all wearing below. Fashion to Figure specializes in chic and on-trend clothing that is perfect for a night out.

We also have Gwynnie Bee as sponsor of which we are all wearing below. Gwynnie Bee is a clothing subscription company for sizes 10-32. You can explore top brands from their amazing selection, closet as many items as you’d like for them to be delivered to your door, wear them and then swap them out for more items when you’re done!

Finally we our event sponsor SMASH Shoes, a brand dedicated specifically to sizes 10-14 of whom we are all wearing in both looks! The styles available can be found here, here and here.

I hope to see you all at Curvy Cocktails! You can get your tickets here. Thank you in advance for the support!

Picture Perfect with Walgreens

Today I am reminiscing on a fun weekend spent in Palm Springs during weekend 1 of Coachella. I attended the POPSUGAR Cabana Club for the second year in a row, and let me tell you, this is one of my favorite events to attend. The party is marked with festival-style fashion and vibes and there are always great activities to partake in while there. Held at the beautiful Avalon Hotel, you can’t help but to capture pictures all over this venue. With the perfect setup of the DJ in the black and white cabana, picturesque pool right behind it and surprises in each of the villas, it was another amazing event.

This year, Walgreens helped us picture fanatics feed our addictions by having a cute photo Airstream at the venue. I, of course, took full advantage, snapping photos left and right. The cool thing is that the photos printed out right then AND you could send them via email as well. At , you can do something similar by printing your photos out online, on the app or in store. With the ability to choose different sizes, quantities and other products like Canvas prints, wood panels and more your creativity can run wild and you can develop some really unique items from your memorable moments just as I have done below.

Fashion Find Friday – Banana Leaf Dress

June 13, 2014

Fashion FInd 1

TGIF! What better way to celebrate the beginning of the weekend than with a fashion steal. Banana leaf printed attire has become all the rave for the Spring/Summer season. It has been seen on the likes of Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Solange…just to name a few. While these celebrities are sporting some of the higher-end designers, us common folks are left gasping at the price tags. But like the saying goes, “where there is a will, there is a way” and I have not only found a less expensive version of this trend, but it also comes in plus size (get excited!). Outfit details below!

Top dress: Just Cavalli

Bottom Dress: Dorothy Perkins

Happy Friday!

Haute Curves for LA Fashion Week

October 13, 2013

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Haute Curves show for LA Fashion Week, presented by Elite Curves International. Haute Curves is the first plus size show to hit LA Fashion Week and this year, seven independent designers were showcased. Best of all, Haute Curves added a charitable aspect to the show by partnering with City of Hope, a local charity that provides emotional and educational support to those touched with breast cancer and facilitate breast health care services. All around, it was an exciting and powerful night for women! Here are some of my favorite looks from last night’s show:
